Looking for somebody who will listen?

 Is counselling for me?

  • Are you confused about your emotions?

  • Do you know why you don’t feel good enough sometimes, even though you are doing your best?

  • Are you struggling with what you think might be depression or anxiety?

  • Do you find that you are feeling overwhelmed or even stuck?

  • Would you like to experience a relationship that will allow you to feel supported and for you to grow?

  • Are you struggling with sleep or insomnia?

You will be able to talk about experiences, make sense of them, and come to terms with them. Counselling can help you to develop as a person with that fresh understanding.

What is counselling?

We build a trusting relationship so you can explore what brings you to counselling.

You will feel listened to as you come to understand yourself and your challenges better. You will have somebody to support you, giving you the chance to develop in the way that you want to.

What can we talk about in counselling?

With over a decade of experience, I’ve worked with client on numerous areas of their lives, including the following:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Relationships - both family and partner

  • Sexuality

  • Work stress - work/life balance

  • Improving communication

  • Self-esteem and confidence

What results can I expect from counselling?

The aims of therapy will vary for each client, but general aims will include:

  • Feeling less stressed and more focused on living a life that seems clearer

  • Developed awareness of your patterns of behaviour, leading to better decision-making

  • Increased self-understanding

  • Better understanding of your depression, anxiety or whatever it is that’s bothering you

  • Knowledge of what it is like to feel supported and listened to

  • Knowledge of what it feels like when someone is working hard to understand you

  • The benefits of a consistent relationship

How long does counselling take?

There is no true answer to this question.

The counselling relationship needs trust. How long does it usually take before you trust another person with your thoughts and feelings? If you are ready to be open and honest with yourself, then together we’ll move towards resolving your issues.

I work with clients on an open-ended basis, for as long as they want to. We can also focus on something specific for a fixed length of time. Ongoing support for self-care will see us meet every other week for as long as you find the work to be useful. If you want to talk about something specific, then we will look to meet every week for three to six months at first. As the therapeutic relationship develops, you’ll delve into difficult emotions and thoughts, and begin to make sense of them.

How do I get started?

Send me a message so we can arrange a free consultation phone call. This usually lasts about 15 minutes. The consultation gives you a chance to explain what you want from counselling. It also gives you the chance to ask me any questions you might have.

Once we’ve decided we’re a good fit, we can either meet online, talk on the phone, or use my therapy space in east London.
